Ji Sung Confirmed for New Time-Travel K-Drama with Won Jin Ah and Park Hee Soon

Ji Sung stars in Judge Lee Han Young, a time-travel K-drama about justice, redemption, and second chances. Coming in late 2025 with Park Hee Soon and Won Jin Ah.

Renowned actor Ji Sung, known for his emotionally intense roles, is making a highly anticipated return to K-dramas with a new project: Judge Lee Han Young (working title). Based on a popular web novel, this upcoming series blends time travel, justice, and redemption into a gripping narrative.

The Plot of “Judge Lee Han Young”

The story follows Lee Han Young, a single judge working at the Chungnam District Court. His seemingly calm routine is disrupted when he becomes the son-in-law of the CEO of a powerful law firm. Soon, Han Young begins leveraging his position to gain personal advantages, entangling himself in trials tainted by external interests.

However, his world turns upside down when he is falsely accused, suffers a tragic death, and unexpectedly travels back 20 years in time. Given a second chance, Han Young sets out to make different choices — facing his past with courage, regret, and bold determination. Ji Sung’s performance is expected to deliver powerful emotions and unforgettable moments.

Park Hee Soon and Won Jin Ah Join the Lead Cast

Park Hee Soon takes on the role of Kang Shin Jin, the Chief Criminal Judge of the Seoul Central District Court. A key player in a shadow government led by a former president, Kang manipulates laws and rulings to serve his own interests. His path collides directly with Lee Han Young, setting up a dramatic and intense rivalry.

Won Jin Ah plays Kim Jin Ah, a strong-willed prosecutor from the Seoul Public Prosecutors’ Office. Determined to take down a powerful tycoon, she teams up with Han Young. Yet, as she learns more about his past, she begins to waver between trust and suspicion. Her character adds emotional depth and complexity to the storyline.

High Expectations and Upcoming Release

The production team has shared that this drama marks Ji Sung’s return to MBC after 10 years, and he will showcase a completely new side of his acting range. The chemistry between Ji Sung, Park Hee Soon, and Won Jin Ah is anticipated to be a major highlight, delivering scenes filled with catharsis and dramatic tension.

Filming for Judge Lee Han Young is already underway, with the premiere scheduled for the second half of 2025. With its compelling plot and star-studded cast, this drama is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated K-drama releases of the year.
