Netflix has officially confirmed the production of Lovestuck, a Korean romantic comedy that promises to capture the hearts of K-drama fans with an unexpected storyline full of twists, charm, and sweet romance—like a sticky piece of traditional Korean yeot candy. The lead roles will be played by Jung Hae In and Ha Young, two popular actors who have already won over audiences in previous dramas.
In Lovestuck, we follow the journey of Go Eun Sae (played by Ha Young), a talented and determined prosecutor working in the Anti-Corruption Investigation Department of the Seoul Public Prosecutor’s Office. While investigating a powerful crime syndicate, Eun Sae gets into an accident that causes her to lose her memory.
She wakes up in a quiet rural village filled with traditional yeot shops—and it’s in this quaint setting that she meets Jang Tae Ha (played by Jung Hae In), a former youth boxing champion who now works as a coach. The twist? Tae Ha insists that he is her boyfriend.
Tae Ha is actually a former gangster trying to leave his past behind. During his final mission for the gang, he crosses paths with Eun Sae, his former love, and uses her amnesia as an opportunity to pretend they’re still in a relationship. As they spend more time together, real feelings begin to develop—but the foundation of lies threatens to destroy everything.
The drama explores this complex relationship set against the backdrop of a peaceful small town, where the characters’ pasts could resurface at any moment. The sweetness of the village contrasts with the emotional weight of the story, creating the perfect balance for a heartwarming and engaging romantic comedy.
Lovestuck is directed by Kim Jang Han, known for his work on Do You Like Brahms? and My Demon. The script is written by Mo Ji Hye, the screenwriter behind You Raise Me Up.
Jung Hae In, beloved for his roles in Something in the Rain and Love Next Door, returns to the genre that made him famous. Ha Young, praised for her performance in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, brings strength and vulnerability to her role as Eun Sae.
With its captivating plot, strong cast, and a unique blend of romance, humor, and drama, Lovestuck has everything it takes to become the next K-drama hit on Netflix. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to fall in love with a story full of fate, secrets, and second chances!
