For K-drama fans who love a good mystery — or for those looking to take a break from all the romance-filled series — a must-watch is coming your way: Nine Puzzles. This new release is perfect for anyone who enjoys gripping storylines, complex characters, and plots that require your full attention.
With a dark and captivating atmosphere, Nine Puzzles promises to deliver a story full of twists, suspense, and intense psychological tension.
Nine Puzzles follows the story of Yoon Yi Na (played by Kim Da Mi), a talented criminal profiler who was the sole witness to an unsolved murder case from 10 years ago — the killing of her uncle, Senior Superintendent Yoon Dong Hoon. Surrounded by trauma and doubt, Yi Na wasn’t just a witness, but also the main suspect at the time, and she completely lost her memory of the event.
Determined to uncover the truth and free herself from the burden she carries, Yi Na becomes a profiler to use her skills to understand the minds of criminals. Despite her sharp mind and unique perception, she continues therapy, haunted by the fear that she may have killed the only family she had left.
By her side is Kim Han Saem (played by Son Suk Ku), a detective in the Violent Crimes Unit who never let go of his first case: the murder of Yoon Dong Hoon. Obsessed with solving the crime, he still suspects Yi Na after a decade. Han Saem is a perfectionist, obsessed with detail and crime novels, and is determined to solve this puzzle — one piece at a time.
In addition to Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku, the drama also stars Kim Sung Kyun as Yang Jung Ho, the dedicated and principled team leader of the Violent Crimes Unit. Jung Ho is meticulous, respected by his team, and deeply compassionate toward victims. His presence adds emotional depth to the narrative.
The promotional photos highlight the characters’ striking visuals and help create the enigmatic atmosphere surrounding the plot — with intense gazes, bold fashion, and settings that hint at constant tension.
The teaser already features electrifying scenes, suspicious glances, and the promise of shocking revelations that will make you question everything.
The first six episodes will be released on May 21, followed by three more episodes on May 28, and the final two episodes will air on June 4 — for a total of 11 episodes. You can stream them exclusively on Disney+.
If you’re a fan of smart thrillers and psychological dramas, Nine Puzzles is definitely worth adding to your watchlist. Get ready to dive into an investigation filled with layers, secrets, and unexpected connections.
