Pump Up the Healthy Love: A Romantic Comedy K-drama Set in a Gym That’s Sure to Win Your Heart

Pump Up the Healthy Love is a new K-drama rom-com set in a gym, starring Lee Jun Young and Jeong Eun Ji.

Get ready for an unmissable premiere, especially if you’re a rom-com fan who loves a fitness vibe (or even if you don’t)! Pump Up the Healthy Love is a new romantic comedy that promises lots of laughs, sweet romance, and self-esteem lessons—all set in a lively and energetic gym. The drama is set to premiere on April 30, and will be available on Viki.

Pump Up the Healthy Love: Synopsis

The story follows Do Hyun Joong (played by Lee Jun Young), a passionate gym owner dedicated to transforming lives through fitness. While helping his clients overcome both physical and emotional challenges, he meets Lee Mi Ran (Jeong Eun Ji), an assistant manager at a travel agency who joins the gym in hopes of recovering from a recent breakup.

Most of the story unfolds at the 24/7 Health Club, where the intense workout routines blend with the ups and downs of personal and professional relationships.

Main Cast and Dynamic Relationships

The gym is run by three unforgettable characters: Do Hyun Joong, the practical and impatient Rosa (Lee Mi Do), and the ever-cheerful Alex (Lee Seung Woo), the gym’s mascot. The relationship between Hyun Joong and Rosa is full of sparks—they argue constantly but somehow manage to work well together. Their tension adds great energy to the plot.

Meanwhile, Lee Mi Ran faces her own challenges at work, clashing with her colleague Kim Ye Jin (Nam Kyu Hee). Mi Ran is creative and laid-back, while Ye Jin prefers a more controlled, polished approach—though she often hides her sarcasm behind a sweet smile.

Family, Love, and Laughs

Mi Ran’s personal life is equally entertaining, thanks to her younger sister Lee Ji Ran (Lee Da Eun) and Ji Ran’s overly romantic boyfriend Kang Dan (Lee Sang Jin). The couple constantly supports Mi Ran, though their exaggerated displays of affection often lead to hilarious situations.

Together, they try to help Mi Ran rediscover love, but their methods don’t always go as planned. The bond between the sisters and the couple’s chaotic support adds warmth and charm to the story.

A Story About Self-Love and Transformation

According to the production team, Pump Up the Healthy Love goes beyond just fitness and romantic clichés. The drama also presents a journey of self-discovery, showing how self-esteem and self-love are essential for building healthy relationships. All of this is wrapped up in humor, heartfelt moments, and characters that viewers can truly relate to.

When and Where to Watch Pump Up the Healthy Love

Save the date! Pump Up the Healthy Love premieres on April 30 and will be available on the Viki platform. If you enjoy romantic comedies with charming characters, a touch of drama, and a healthy dose of fitness inspiration, this drama is for you!
